We couldn’t recommend Judith’s Barn more highly. It is absolutely perfect for a relaxing weekend in the Lakes. Greta location with beautiful walks from the door and the Barn is really well equipped to a very high standard,

Judith very helpfully gave us the 'what3words' location coordinates and as the property is down a track after the tarmac ends, it was perfect and took us right to the door.
The property is perfect, it is very well equipped with everything you need and we were welcomed with extremely good lemon drizzle cake! We wish we were able to use either of the
two outside seating locations, however the weather did not oblige.
The location is beautiful, peaceful and there are walks from the door. It is a great location for Ullswater and Helvellyn and the guides and maps were a great addition to our own.
If you want to eat out the White Lion is a short walk away and after being re-opened quite recently we had good pub food with a couple of well kept beers.

Brilliant place and exactly as described ???? the lemon drizzle cake was world class!

By far the best air bnb experience we have ever had! Set in beautiful tranquil surroundings, Crook a Beck Barn is immaculately clean, tastefully furnished, and equipped with everything you need for an extremely comfortable stay. There was nothing better than returning from a beautiful walk around Ullswater to a lavish bath, and then cosying up in front of a warm fire, with a slice of delicious lemon drizzle cake and a glass of Prosecco (both kindly provided by Judith). We cannot recommend this place highly enough!

Very comfortable, well equipped cottage in a beautiful setting with great walks right from the door.

We had an amazing stay at the barn - a super cosy space with everything you could need. It's in a beautiful location and in walking distance of Place Fell, which had incredible views even in January. Judith was also very helpful and provided all the information we needed before our stay. Would recommend to anyone!

Crook a Beck barn really is the perfect getaway. We had such a great time and we felt right at home here. This is a high quality property in a stunning location. Everything is perfect: the well organised kitchen, the underfloor heating, stone floor tiles, the beautiful bathroom with excellent shower, cosy bedroom and our favourite; the log burner. And the views!
Typically we're out and about in the evenings but for this trip we stayed in, made a fire, cooked fantastic local steaks and relaxed under the skylights, looking out at the passing storm and full moon.
Judith is the perfect host, clear instructions, responsive communication. There is so much attention to detail here and some beautiful finishing touches. The Lemon Drizzle Cake being our favourite.
Personally I want to keep Crook a Beck a secret! Thanks for having us Judith, we hope to return later in the year.

Our experience at Judith and Stephen’s beautiful cottage at Crook a Beck was excellent. The location is exceptional, offering magnificent views of the surrounding mountains and close proximity to Ulswater. The cottage itself exudes warmth and comfort, with every detail carefully considered to create a welcoming atmosphere. Judith’s hospitality is outstanding and really rounded off a perfect experience; her attention to detail and kindness greatly enhanced our stay. Crook a Beck cottage really is a hidden treasure, and we will definitely be back — soon! Highly recommended for those seeking a tranquil retreat amidst beautiful scenery.
